As you may know, Tess (Munster) Holliday was recently signed to Milk Model Management in London, as the first model of her height and size. She is 5’5 and a size 22, this is beyond major!

I would have loved to see a woman of her size in ads when I was a teen shopping for school clothes or daydreaming about being a model.
Unfortunately, media had fooled us into believing that plus size women were unacceptable to be in mainstream media. With the likes of Rebel Wilson, Gabourey Sidibe, and Melissa McCarthy starring in movies and t.v series, they are paving the way and making a significant change in the game. As well as body positive activists Gabi Gregg, Tess Munster, and many others. I am excited to see what this year brings.

What are your thoughts on Tess being signed to a major model agency? I would love to hear your feedback.

XO,
Serena

There are a lot of people (especially fuller figured women) who are not active in the fashion/blogging world that aren’t aware of all the resources and inspiration available online. I know ordering from the internet can be intimidating, but unfortunately, a lot of retail stores are not as fashion forward in the plus size department as we would like. I understand ordering something online not knowing how it fits can be scary. However, once you find THAT item, it is so worth it. Also, most online stores offer free return shipping, if you’re not sure read the shipping info before placing an order.

This top is a men’s cycling jersey from some random website in China. I could not find anything similar in stores (that fit) or from my “go to” online retailers (listed below). At first I was skeptical to give my credit card number, but I am happy I did. The jacket is exactly what I wanted.

Here is a quick list of blogs and websites I use for inspiration and of course shopping!
