It is official, in two years I will turn the big 3-0! I am trying to convince myself to look at it from a “fine wine” perspective. Guess I will have to fake it til I make it. Am I the only one having a slight panic attack about this?
On a lighter note, I was happy to spend my twenty-eighth birthday in San Francisco. I love walking around the city and taking pictures. I finally had the chance to visit Miette pastry shop, and stopped by Bi-Rite Market for a few groceries. It was pouring rain which I loved but it would stop every time we needed it to. It was perfect! That city takes my breath away every time.
Where do you go when you want to take a quick little trip? Most importantly, what do you wear? I am the worst at over packing. What is in your getaway bag?

Here are a few photos we took as the sun was rising, A.K.A “The Golden Hour” (the best time to take pictures). Wearing a sweater from H&M, ankle pants and nude wedges are Forever 21, and the sheer top is from Torrid.
My new mission in life is to refine my personal style and stay relevant at the same time. I am half kidding, half serious. Maybe that is not the most practical goal for a “life mission” but it is what it is.
I rue the day when I look back at pictures 20 years from now and say to myself “what was I wearing”. I am sure it is inevitable, but I will try to avoid it at all costs.
I am not sure if I have ever made my goal clear for this blog but I want to briefly say that my intent is to empower women and encourage them to express themselves in a way that is authentic and true to self. Allowing society or friends and family to dictate what to wear and not to wear is easy to do but not good for our souls. It is time to do what make us feel good about ourselves and not be concerned how others will perceive it.
I am forever on a journey of discovering what I like and dislike, but I am finding it out for myself and basing it off of my personal feelings and opinions. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for flattering your figure and accentuating your best features, but play around until YOU like what YOU see.
Moral of the story: Do your thang’ girl! Stay true to yourself and what you like.
The first sign of morning, he feels me reaching for my phone and automatically wraps his arms around to pull me closer (he wants me off the phone). After a little morning cuddling ;), we take showers, which may or may not be taken together. We shout out a few “should I wear this with this?”, “Honey, have you seen my earrings?”, ”Where’s my jacket?”, and sometimes a “are you really going to wear that?”
His music is blasting from the office (most likely, it’s some sort of rap/hip hop or R&B). I play my music in the bathroom (usually 90’s R&B and pop) but as of late, OBVI its Beyoncé’s new album. I’m obsessed! I can’t get enough! I want to emulate her every move in those videos. I’ll make it my work out session; kill two birds with one stone. Get healthier, AND learn some new sexy moves for my man. Sounds like a win-win to me (it’s always good to switch things up, ladies). Finally, we choose our scents and accessories and we are on our way. A typical Sunday will go a little something like this… breakfast, a stroll through the flea market, and maybe a trip to Target or the mall. We end the day with dinner and a movie, and there ya’ have it, our Sunday routine.
